Excellent Book

Excellent basic Ultrasound book for ICU. You will still need hands on practice but it will cut your learning time if you read it before hand and then again once you go through a course. Dr. Mayo's course through the ACP is an excellent one.

An instance where a substantial contributor, developer, and great proponent on an entire field (clinician ultrasound) is also a most talented author. This work is interesting, easy to read and most instructive. Perhaps not only new talents by physicians but new talents in authoring will be the result of this most fine work.

Author's personality permeates this book

This is an interesting book written more for enthusiasts than purists. The prose evokes the author's personality vividly. The quirks make it memorable. Of the few chapters in which I have some experience, the information is spot on- illustrating a transcontinental objectivity that is as convincing as the data.
