The Acts of the Apostles

I am a professor in a Bible Institute. This is an excellent devotional commentary on the book of Acts, however the cost of the commentary new is disproportionate to the limited number of pages in this very thin paperback book. $9.99 is a very high cost for 73 pages. I cannot rate this item highly due to the excessive price charged.

The Book of Acts

This small book IS the book of Acts. It is typical Ryrie in that it is presented in an easy to understand format. There is no need to have a Bible along side this commentary as the reader will find themselves lost in Luke's historically important recounting of the early church's formation and activities. The book covers models for church governments and guidelines for evangelism and mission work. The book also covers how to handle the problems of opposition and persecution faced by the early church. Charles Ryrie's, "The Acts of the Apostles" is written for the layman. I recommend it highly.
